Hate The Texas Longhorns? Don’t Tell That To Vince Young Unless You Want a Fist In Your Mouth!

We all know Vince Young, the trouble quarterback who had all the questions about his throwing mechanics coming out of the University of Texas. The same Vince Young who was thought to have went crazy when he left the Titans locker room with a gun, seemingly heading to end his life. Then the redemption earning his way back on the field, and almost leading the winless Titans to the playoffs by putting together one of the most impressive win streaks of the season last year.
Well Vince is back in the news again, and this time it is for getting into a fight at a stri… I mean gentleman’s club. Didn’t we go down this road before with another Tennessee Titans player a few years ago who had an affinity for making it rain in the strip club? What is it with pro athletes and incidents in strip clubs, it just makes no sense that is what they make the private VIP rooms for. The worst part about this incident is that all of Young’s actions were caught on tape for the world to see, and it does not paint a good picture (see video below).
The video shows Young in a back office talking to a manager. Another man in the office makes a derogatory “Horns down” hand sign in reference to the University of Texas, Young’s alma mater, and says something to the quarterback. Young is then seen talking to the manager for a few more moments before charging after the man who made the hand signal. A fight involving multiple people then breaks out, with Young going after the guy for disrespecting the University of Texas.
For those unfamiliar, the “horns down” is a disrespectful alteration to the famous “hook em’ horns” hand gesture, popularized by the University of Texas’ rabid fanbase. UT is where Vince Young
went to school. So, in summation, what the gentleman was communicating to Mr. Young was: “I do not care much for your alma mater sir, ” to which Vince responded with fisticuffs. The whole incident and situation were something straight out of high school, your talking bad about my school so let’s fight? I am sure Mack Brown called Vince after he heard about the incident and thanked him for showing that UT hater what happens to people that disrespect the university (sarcasm for those that didn’t get it).
The NFL has yet to rule on if Vince will be disciplined by the league, but he has already issued a public apology for his actions. I still find it interesting that even though you give someone fame and fortune they act like they don’t know what to do with hit, this was a stupid altercation that should not have ever happened. If the guy did a horns down to me and I were Vince Young I would have just flashed him the National Championship Ring that he won while he was at Texas, and not said a word because that says enough. For this incident there is a simple solution, welcome to the hall of fail Vince nice to have you here.
