Hall of Fail: Jimmy Jump Crashes World Cup Final, Gets A Punch To the Jaw For His Troubles!

Before the World Cup Final I had no idea who Jimmy Jump was, but apparently after the World Cup Final I learned who exactly he was.  “Jimmy Jump” is well known for invasions at high-profile sporting events, having entered the field of play in many top Spanish matches and run through the starting line of the Spanish Grand Prix in 2004.

Jimmy Jump apparently once again made his mark, and this time it came on the world’s grandest stage at the World Cup final between Spain and Netherlands.   After Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro brought the championship trophy out onto the field prior to the game, Jimmy Jump made an effort to place one of his patented Spanish style hats over the trophy.

Unfortunately, he would fall just steps short of successfully achieving his objective, thanks to a stiff right arm from a quick acting security guard.  Several other members of the on-field security team were on the scene seconds later and carried Jump off the field past the players, who were waiting in the tunnel at the time.

The 34-year old Jump, was in court on charges of trespassing and attempted theft at the World Cup, he got off with a small fine by the South African Court.  I will give him credit for being bold, but that was an extremely stupid move.  You are at an international event, the largest sporting even in the world to make matters worse.  In this day and age we have a heightened fear of terrorism, so it would have been very easy for him to get picked off by some law enforcement official.

Spain would go on to raise the trophy at the end of the game after Andres Iniesta scored in extra time to give his country their first ever World Cup title.  And thanks to a well-timed tackle, Iker Casillas was the first to raise the trophy that night, and not Jimmy Jump.  The best part was the punch to the chin that was thrown by the security guard, sending Jump to the ground.  This guy has run onto the field at Tennis matches, Soccer matches, and even race car events.  Jimmy Jump needs to get a life and find a better hobby, for being a dumbass Jimmy you are a welcome addition to the Hall of Fail!
