What Anderson Silva will we see vs. Chael Sonnen at UFC 117?

As fans of Anderson Silva prepare to watch UFC 117, they have to be wondering what type of performance they are going to get out of the champion. Sliva has been untouchable for the most part in his career, and has dispatched some very good fighters along the way.
He can put on dominant performances and wow UFC fans with his ability and talent while embarrassing his opponents, or he can dance and prance around the octagon as if it were a recital. Surely, both types of performances grant him attention. They should because he is arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.
It’s doubtful, though, that he’ll come out and choreograph another dance routine this time around. UFC president Dana White made it clear that if he did so, it’d mark the end of his tenure in the organization. More importantly, challenger Chael Sonnen has done more than enough to get under Silva’s skin to promote this bout, which will motivate the champion to perform to the best of his ability.
To put it simple, Silva needs to win in a devastating fashion, which is one of the annoying things about the UFC Dana White constantly pulling the strings. What happened to a win is a win in sports these days, now he mandates that Silva has to engage his opponent and make it action packed because fans like it more. Sounds like the UFC contests are scripted and Dana White is the person writing the script, let the fighters fight and the promoters promote.
Silva needs to go out and prove to the fans that he’s the best fighter in the world. He needs to show that he has the motivation to finish his opponents and not taunt and disrespect them. Or does he? Silva has beaten every man placed across from him in the Octagon, so what does he have to prove? The UFC let Tim Silvia suck it up against weak competition for years. When Silva is motivated, it’s evident just how dangerous of a fighter he can turn
out to be.
UFC 117 will determine the direction of Silva’s career and the outcome of this bout will guide it there. He will either have fans singing his praises for another dominant and flawless victory, or he’ll be laughed at and ridiculed for another disappointing performance while receiving his walking papers. Anderson Silva has lost his desire to compete. Now he only has a short time to rekindle that old flame before it burns out. I think it mostly has to do with lack of real competition being thrown at him, once again not his fault.
