What has happened to the Dallas Cowboys Offense, the past two weeks have seen them put up two of the most dismal offensive performances in recent memory. They were practically shut out by the Green Bay Packers save a last second TD pass to Roy Williams which avoided the shutout. This week Dallas beat the Washington Redskins 7 – 6 on a last minute touchdown in the fourth quarter, that was more like a baseball score rather than a football game. Dallas has hit a wall offensively the past two games, and I think it stems from a lack of chemistry between Tony Romo and his wide receivers. I will re-iterate the fact that they should not have gotten rid of T.O. until Roy Williams proved he could take the #1 receiver role and succeed. Miles Austin has been great, but he is not seasoned enough to deal with the double teams he has been facing in recent weeks. I firmly believe the Cowboys will get back on track because their running game is working, but it is going to be a struggle until Tony Romo and Roy Williams get on the same page.
The Miami Hurricanes get by Duke USF up next, and with USF coming off a good win against Louisville both teams have momentum coming into the game. Miami and USF the game I have dreaded for the entire season is finally here, Miami has had the tendency in recent weeks to play “down” to the level of their competition just look at the Wake Forest and Duke games. There is high potential for that this game vs. USF, and one of the main reasons USF has a chance is because Miami struggles with Mobile Quarterbacks that plays right into the hands of B.J. Daniels it will be an interesting game.
Notre Dame loses to UCONN the hot plate is turned up on Weis because the media has predicted his firing for the most part. It gets to a point in the media where they say something so much that it becomes fact, there are a lot of factors to consider if the Irish get rid of Weis. An $18 million dollar buyout, as well as buying out the contracts of coaches who will not be retained. They would also have to pay the incoming coach and his staff, which would bring the total to get rid of Weis somewhere near $40 million if you add everything up. I don’t think Notre Dame would be wise to splurge on a big name coach, just get a guy who can recruit and lead men the rest will fall into place.
The New Jersey Nets remain win less and had an opportunity to pickup their first win against the equally bad New York Knicks. The Nets lost the game to drop to 0 – 13 even with Nate Robinson of the Knicks shooting the ball into the Nets basket on accident. Looking at the Nets they have had a lot of injuries, and have several decent players but when Vince Carter left to join the Orlando Magic they lost their go to play maker. The Knicks really don’t have a player they can count on to take over a game or hit clutch shots when they need it, and that’s what they at the moment are the only win less team in the NBA.
Kenny Smith has self control as he was recently on the Monique show, and recording artist Amerie was on the show as well. When she came out looking just stunning, Kenny was trying hard not to look because he’s married and well it’s on national television. His buddies at TNT decided to analyze the video closer to see what Kenny was really trying to do. I will give him credit he was fairly smooth in taking a look here and there without being too obvious, too bad his co-workers called him out.
