Hall of Fail Honoree: Evander Holyfield wins another Boxing Title, Unfortunately It was Against His Wife!

Evander Holyfield’s wife, is seeking a temporary protective order against the boxer after accusing him of hitting her in the face, according to RadarOnline.
Candi Calvana Smith — Holyfield’s third wife — called the police after the couple got into a fight at their home in Georgia last week. She claimed that the deeply religious boxer accused her of being selfish when she complained that their children were too cold and that she should ‘put God first in her life.’
She claimed that the heat was cut off in their mansion and that after taking their children to the bathroom in the middle of the night, she tried to talk to Holyfield about the house being too cold.
“He told me I was only thinking about myself, the children’s hearts beat faster,” she wrote in the restraining order.
The deeply religious boxer accused her of being disrespectful when she pulled the covers over her head and he said that she needed to “start putting God first” in her life.
Holyfield refused to let up, arguing about payments made to their church and asking his wife if she had been tithing. He demanded she show him the check stubs of her payments to the church and after she refused, Candi alleges that Holyfield hit her in the face on the back of the head twice and on her back also.
The couple then continued to argue about payments made to their church and after she refused to show him pay stubs Candi alleges that Holyfield hit her in the face on the back of the head twice and on her back also.
Candi also claims that Holyfield has hurt her before and that he has been violent in the presence of their children.
Mr. Holyfield is being inducted into the Hall of Fail for several reasons. First of all he has eleven children, yes I said it eleven children from at least four different women. Also with him now being in his 40′s he is making an attempt to continue his boxing career, which is only going to get him hurt.
But the primary reason is simple; he is deeply religious and does not hide that fact. But there comes a point when the religion argument is taken too far, he thugged his wife because she was not tithing as much as he felt she should? So what happened god told him to thug her so she would get with the program?
On top of that he had the heat turned off in their house so he could save money on the electric bill, and since there has been a cold snap lately I can only imagine how cold it was in that house. I believe if you can’t afford to pay for heat then maybe you need to move to a smaller place, or tithe a little bit less so you can cover the heating bill.
For all of that, and hoping that a washed up boxer hangs it up we are going to induct Mr. Holyfield today. Evander, welcome to the Hall!!!!

I love it when these Bible beating holy rollers hit their women. It reaffirms the notion that hell does exist. I bet she swung first (SNARK!)

And how easy is it for a woman to call the law and cry abuse? If you’re a man and a woman calls on you, you’re going in no matter if you did it or not. The abuse thing is the easiest to claim. Get all the facts before pointing a finger. Yeah, you’re sure you got the facts but it’s prob.ly far from the truth.

Very true point, and I typically give the athlete the benefit of the doubt in most cases. It’s not like she said this happened once she chronicled several years of abuse, and if you know how much of a Holy Roller Evander is him getting pissed about her not paying the church seems right on par. Then her quotes also don’t sound like she has any ill will towards him, “In a statement released Thursday by the publicist, Candi Holyfield said her husband was a great man and father. “Our current situation should in no way be considered a reflection of his character. I have been with this man for nine years and will be the first to say that he has many qualities and characteristics that I admire and respect. We are all human. No one is perfect,” she said in the statement.” Most women don’t have good things to say about their abusers, I think she just got tired of taking it.
