On September 11th, 2010 the Miami Hurricanes will fly into Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. This is going to be one of the toughest tests of the season, as Ohio State has been one of the top programs in College Football over the last eight years. I would say a lot of that has to do with playing in the Big Ten which is a weakened conference up until last season, but Miami as always can match Ohio State athlete for athlete and should be able to win this game.
This game is about revenge. Ohio State stole a National Championship from Miami in 2002 and now the Hurricanes will have a chance to right that wrong. This game is not for a National Championship this time, but the loser of this game is going to have an early blow to its National Title hopes for 2010. Had it not been for a horrible pass interference penalty on what should have been the last play of the game, the Hurricanes would have won back-to-back National Titles and Jim Tressel would still have none. Look at the video below to relive the moment and judge for yourself.
The Buckeyes are going to be strong; they are losing four starters on defense and two starters on offense and handled a high-powered Oregon offense in the Rose Bowl. The Hurricanes are a balanced team by boasting a high-powered offense and a solid defense. The keys to victory will be simple: force Terrelle Pryor to throw the football, and shut down any semblance of a running game.
I know people will say that Pryor threw the ball against Oregon, but everyone knows that the Ducks do not play any defense. The Hurricanes secondary is good enough to shut down the passing game of Ohio State, and I believe the Hurricanes will rise to the occasion. All the pundits will count the Hurricanes out, and I am sure most will predict an Ohio State victory. Those spots are where this team plays best. The Hurricanes will win a hard fought close game in the horse shoe.
Final Score: Miami – 20 Ohio State – 17

mANNNN….WE OWE THEM punks from that ‘03 when they throught that pass interference B.S!!!!
u sore LOOOSER there were questionable calls on both teams thats football man… also it was 2002 not 03 but hey hateful dude a W is a W. Go Bucks 2010-2011 Champs!!!!!
Don’t forget the phantom pass interference call on Chris Gamble that kept alive the game tying drive at the end of regulation either. There were terrible calls on both sides. Not saying its even, but the game never goes to overtime if the refs hadn’t kept Criami in it!
We can never tell the outcome of a game based on the officials calls, and can always speculate about what would have happened. The call at the end of the game stands out because it was not an immediate flag, it was thrown very late and it for the most part cost Miami the game. But at the end of the day the Buckeyes won the game, we take our hats off to them. It’s not like the Buckeyes have not had their share of heart break in the National Championship game, so there is enough to go around. I am looking forward to the game this season though, just to see if the Buckeyes are the title contenders every one says they are this coming season.
Ummm the article says 2002, not sure where you got 2003 from. Hateful dude? I am not an Ohio State fan last time I checked and when your Buckeyes were getting blasted in all those BCS games, I am sure you were so happy. The Buckeyes won the game, I am sure they would have completed that 4th and 16 on their own. It’s simple there are always bad calls in a game, BUT NOT TO DECIDE a national championship game. If that call happened in the middle of the 4th quarter fine, but on the last play of the game, 4th and 16? It’s simple though the Buckeyes won and it does not matter how it happened, this article was written from fact it has nothing to do with being a sore loser. Just getting fans hyped about the rematch this season, all I hear are Buckeyes fans talk about how they aren’t worried about Miami this season keep that mentality please.
Let’s see, you claim Ohio State “stole” the National Championship and suggest that one merely watches a replay of that call to confirm it. Here’s the truth. While that endzone call was indeed questionable, if you recall (and it’s obvious you don’t) Ohio State had the ball AND A 3 POINT LEAD late in the 4th quarter. Oh yeah, they also had the ball near midfield. On a 3rd down pass play, a simple out pattern, OSU receiver Chris Gamble was being held so badly that on the replay (you are watching the replays it appears) he’s being held so badly that you can see his jersey stretched away from his body. No Call!
Imagine that? If pass interference was called there, as it clearly should have been, Ohio State doesn’t punt the ball away, your Hurricanes don’t get an opportunity for a game tying 40 yard field goal, and we don’t even have this overtime call to discuss.
Interesting point, I did not recall that play. I am going to look it up and see if they have a video of it, I do remember the series, but don’t specifically remember anything other than it was an incomplete pass. Do you have a link to a replay of it, definitely good debating topic.
All I gotta say is “Da U” better get ready for a long night in “Da shoe”.Atleast when they cry about this butt kickin, they’ll have all season to hate us again. And whats with the pelican mascot, with a crack pipe?
Ohio state punkeyes suck. First of all he dropped the pass before contaxt. Second 2010 we him wipe that add
YOU STOLE OUR CROWN IN 02′ BITCH BUT NOW MIAMI STOLE YOUR KING AND WE GOT SEANTREL HENDERSON WAIT TILL GET GRABS A BUCKEYE AND THROWS HIM AROUND I EXPECT TO SEE A FIGHT IN THIS GAME AT SOME POINT ITS GOING TO BE SO HYPE! THEM CANES ARE GOING TO SHOW UP IN THE SHOE AND PROVE THE NATION THAT WERE BACK AND WE AINT GOING ANYWHERE.SO ALL U SUCKEYE FANS PACK A LUNCH ITS GOING TO BE A LONG DAY!
The mascot is an ibis, not a pelican. It is an ibis because it is the last bird to leave before a hurricane and the first to come back after. Miami is going to kick ohio states ass!
