Hall of Fail: Kevin Garnett Suspended One Game, for Throwing Elbows! The Big Dummy!

Kevin Garnett has been suspended by the NBA for the Boston Celtics second playoff game against the Miami Heat.  The one-game suspension was imposed Sunday for hitting Quentin Richardson of the Miami Heat in the head with an elbow with 40 seconds left in Boston’s 85-76 win in Game 1 on Saturday night.

The league also fined Richardson $25,000, but the story is Garnett.  One of the best players in the game for years, even labeled the “big ticket” has always been known as a cheap shot artist.

In this particular case The altercation occurred near the Miami Heat bench while Boston’s Paul Pierce lay on the floor with an apparent shoulder injury. Garnett said he wanted to make room for Pierce as Heat players stood nearby. During the confrontation, Garnett and Richardson exchanged words.

But what is stupid about all of this, is Garnett is a veteran player with multiple MVP’s and an NBA title under his belt.  But there have been many instances where Garnett has thrown elbows at other players, or gotten into altercations a a result of his dirty play.

I remember a few years ago when he was playing for the Timberwolves, and some guy from Sacramento elbowed him in the face after Garnett hit him with a cheap shot.  Garnett tried to play the victim, but he was just a guilty.

We all remember last season when he was injured on the bench and you could read his curse word laden cheers on the sidelines for his teammates.  The guy just has not tact and elbowing Q. Richardson was stupid, there are cameras everywhere and he tried to say oh I was trying to get out of the pile.  He knew exactly what he was doing, and he caught Richardson flush with an elbow.

I actually credit Richardson for showing some restraint, and Garnett received what he deserved.  Playing the I was helping my teammate card is weak Kevin, so as a result you are being inducted to the Hall of Fail.  Welcome to the Hall!
