Rashard Mendenhall has been one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL for the last few years, and has been on eof the main reason teh Pittsburgh Steelers have enjoyed a nice run the last few years. Mendenhall is an interesting character as it came out last year that he took ballet classes to help him make moves on the field and elude defenders.

Recently Mendenhall has made news of another sort, after the news of Osama Bin Laden’s assasination by U.S. forces Mendenhall took to Twitter to voice his opinion.

“R_Mendenhall Rashard Mendenhall
What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…”

“R_Mendenhall Rashard Mendenhall
For those of you who said you want to see Bin Laden burn in hell and piss on his ashes, I ask how would God feel about your heart?”

Mendenhall also made a tweet about how the World Trade Centers fell, and questioned how a plane could take them down. Mendenhall removed that particular tweet because it started to stir up a lot of controversy. One thing is for sure he doesn’t have an issue putting his opinion out there.

He tweeted earlier a few other interesting tidbits:

“R_Mendenhall Rashard Mendenhall
Whenever you see a man and wonder “why hes with her?” it’s cause she do things that you won’t! #NASTY”

“R_Mendenhall Rashard Mendenhall
Going down on your man IS optional. It’s either gonna be you, OR some other chick. #choosewisely”

Rashard welcome to the Hall of Fail! Stay the hell of Twitter. When are athletes going to learn that everything they do and say is under a microscope, and Twitter does them no favors. Mendenhall is standing up for his views now, but his Tweets were posted on ESPN, and I am sure he will be booed at some point during the season.

The Tweets about women which now will receive more attention, are a very good way to piss off any female fans you did have. If Mendenhall was on slate for any endorsement deals he just burned up any chance of getting those anytime soon, the backlash has already been harsh. Mendenhall is a good football player, but he needs to hire a public relations firm to help him prevent these mistakes.

Boxing is one of those sports that is all about the hype and build up to the fight. Once fight night rolls around you hope that the fight can live up to even half the hype that was building during the weigh in and all the pre-fight promotions. Well there are times when you get more entertainment before the fight than you do from it, and Usman Ahmed AKA “Uzzy” provided just that in the video above.

This video starts with Usman Ahmed, wearing a necklace featuring his nickname Uzzy in giant diamond letters — making his way past spectators into the ring with his entrance music blaring. His cocky dance moves are priceless but what makes the video the best is the ending. Watch it, enjoy, and laugh.

The sage of the University of Florida penal colony continues as Gainesville Police arrested former standout Gator wide receiver Louis Morris Murphy Jr. early Sunday morning. Murphy was charged with possession of a drug without a valid prescription, and failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest without violence which are all misdemeanors.

Murphy, who plays for the Oakland Raiders, was taken into custody just after midnight. Gainesville Police Officer Thomas Harrison said he spotted Murphy’s Cadillac Escalade at 100 SW First St., with the stereo playing loudly. Harrison said he told Murphy to pull over, but then Murphy continued driving to a city parking lot, where he and his passengers got out of the SUV and walked away.

Harrison said Murphy refused to present identification and demanded to know why Harrison stopped him. Harrison said Murphy continued to refuse to show his ID and so Harrison attempted to place him in handcuffs, but, he said, Murphy refused to put his hands behind his back. It took three officers to place the 6-foot-2-inch, 180-pound NFL player into custody.

Harrison said Murphy consented to a search of his vehicle, where officers found a “non-labeled prescription bottle containing 11 individual pills later identified as Viagra.” Murphy could not provide a prescription for it and allegedly told the officer that he had peeled the label off of the bottle “because he did not want his girlfriend to know he had a prescription for it.”

Now for the record Murphy is 26 years old, and it is a bit interesting that a person that young would need Viagra. Then he has to hide it from his girlfriend because he does not want her to find out? So, she has to find out by reading it in the newspaper that all that “staying power” her man had is a result of an artificial drug designed for middle aged men trying to get their groove on?

Murphy proved just how out of touch he is, first he resists arrest and has illegal Viagra in his vehicle. Had he just pulled over and let the officer give him a citation for playing his music loudly the Viagra would probably have never been found, and he would have avoided this situation. It’s “Hard” out there for a pimp, not to mention resisting arrest and forcing three officers to handcuff you in the process, because of all of that we are welcoming Louis Murphy Jr. to the Hall Of Fail!

Written By: Paul Catalano

On Feb. 8, ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported that former National Football League quarterback Ray Lucas was detailing on Facebook, his withdrawal from painkilling drugs. The pain he earned in the NFL.

Lucas hasn’t played in the NFL since 2003, but he recently underwent back/neck surgery. He has been in pain every single day since his retirement from the NFL.

It got so bad, Lucas told The Star-Ledger‘s Amy Brittain, “I couldn’t stand up straight, couldn’t walk up the steps. It was that bad.” So Lucas went to a Doctor Colao, who said that Lucas had a severe testosterone deficiency, likely resulting from his long dependence on pain medications. His prescription, unbeknownst to Lucas, was HGH and steroids. Dr. Colao died a few years back and Lucas said, “I know I’m not in that category where I was trying to get ripped up, because I was a fat pig (300 lbs. at the time)…I was hurt when he passed away. I couldn’t believe it…I was actually supposed to see him two days after that.”

The pain continued. And so did the painkillers. Last September, Lucas, through the help of PAST—Pain Alternatives, Solutions and Treatments—a New Jersey medical group that specializes in helping retired athletes—performed neck surgery on Lucas in September and has been assisting his attempt to conquer addiction. Finally on Feb. 5, Lucas checked into the Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, a West Palm Beach, Fla., drug rehabilitation center. Since that time, he has been chronicling his journey out of painkiller dependency on Facebook.

Here’s a just a few of Ray’s Facebook entries:

“I arrived in Fla. Randy tells me not to be nervous but that is impossible. I am in the car on my way to BHOP/Seaside. Nervous about everything, my palms are sweating. This weather will be good for my body. Got a text from my mom she & my family are relieved I am here. I am on my way to start my life over. Can’t believe all the FB responses already, it’s a good sign and the support is needed.

“The end of day 2 detox. The symptoms of detox are taking hold, I am in a lot of pain and everything hurts. This gets me scared. This place is amazing, having another player, Randy Grimes, who has been through it by my side is a difference maker. Today in a session for the first time in my life I was dealing with the emotional impact of my departure from the NFL. This is the start of the fight and I AM WILLING TO FIGHT!

“Day 3 of detox was filled with a lot of anxiety. I was moved from the detox unit into the Seaside condos to start full days of various therapy sessions, group meetings and other treatment. I am nervous and feeling on edge. I met my therapist, it was a very emotional time a lot of feelings coming to the surface. I am drained.

“Today marks one week since Randy Grimes and Jen Smith brought me to treatment for pain killer dependency due to my NFL injuries and depression. I am hangin in there. The 1st week has been difficult because of my pain. I had no idea how much pain I was in because the amount of medication I was taking. They are helping me with the pain with massage and acupuncture. I have started going to group and I am fighting the good fight.

“A day ago I was packing my s—; wanted to leave. I can’t sleep and the pain is getting to me. The lead Doc talked me down and explained that my brain was in a craving mode and the thoughts of leaving were tied to that. It was enlightening and I am feeling better. P.A.S.T/ BHOP brought in another ret. NFL player into the player program Sunday. There are so many of us out there. This place and the program are saving lives.

“I was not at all open to going to AA meetings. I was pissed I had to go. I did not understand. I was not an alcoholic, I was not abusing alcohol I thought this was a waste of time. My wife will tell you that I am as stubborn as a mule. I now go to AA meetings and they are making an impact. This week player only groups led by Randy Grimes will start. All the players here will get together for our own group.”

This isn’t an essay on the horrors of the violence of football and what it has wrought. It isn’t to decry that these athletes don’t know what they are getting into. They do. This is just to say that there has to be something the NFL can do to help these guys after their career is over.

When you attend a sporting event you are generally doing so with thousands of other people, and it is inevitable that you are going to run into obnoxious and annoying people while you are at the game. In many cases these fans start of pleasant enough lulling you into a sense of comfort until you realize you are talking to an annoying person who is going to ruin your experience at the game. Here are the five types of fans you should avoid at sporting events.

The Stats Guy

This is the guy who thinks that everything in sports can be measured by numbers. He’ll argue that whoever scores the most points is the MVP. He’ll base all his arguments around field goal percentage, rebounds, or points per game and not ever hear a thing about what the limitations are. This type of fan will always tell you that you don’t know anything about sports, and have no clue what you are talking about. It becomes really annoying dealing with this type of fan because they tend to talk the entire game, and inundate you with their seemingly endless statistical knowledge unsolicited.

They also seem to pick the worst times to pass their statistical knowledge on to you which is usually during the critical most tense time of the game. Don’t let it be a situation where it’s late in a close game, stats guy will make sure to talk to you about the probability of scoring versus the time left on the clock. This is the exact moment when you want to find a way to shut him up!

The Radio Personality

This guy models himself after the most annoying person on the radio. He believes that excessive uses of the words “epic,” myopic,” and “karma” make him sound like he knows what he’s talking about. He likes to pontificate and talk down to athletes in the second person, and will generally be one of the guys leaning over the rail in the first row taunting the athletes as they go in for half time.

Just like Jim Rome, the “clones” have an over-inflated sense of their own knowledge and place in the sports world. They think they are more informed than anyone else, but they are “myopically” (yes, I went there) focused on one man’s half-informed opinion. If you’re a “clone,” expand your pool and talk like a normal person. You’re not in high school anymore, stop trying so hard to be cool.

The Former Jock

This guy can be one of the most annoying types to deal with because he feels he is an expert. His one year of playing second string on the JV team means that he knows more about the sport than anyone else. He frequently refers to “when he played” to ensure that you understand that his superior knowledge is based on experience.

“I Played” Guy, we appreciate your year of service to the sport and we give it all the credence it deserves. However, you are not the only person who ever played. I’m fairly certain of that. There are also certain things that can be learned through observation. One good example of this is Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith, when he was working for ESPN he started every sentence with “When I played for the Dallas Cowboys”. No wonder he isn’t on TV much anymore.

The 64 oz. Beer Fan

These fans litter the stands at football games, and make up about 15% of each section. If you get more than that in a section of the stands then your game experience is going to probably be a horrible one. They come back to their seat with those flimsy plastic cups that are running over with beer and all it’s going to take is one misstep and you will have beer spilled all over you.

The worst part about these fans is that they forget they have a giant beer in a flimsy cup in their hand when an exciting play happens, and will generally end up spilling beer all over the place. This behavior becomes worse as they get more and more drunk as the game goes on, and then they start to get loud and belligerent yelling at the opposing team in an effort to affect the game, Sit Your Ass Down!!

The Shirt Off My Back Fan

The fact that clothes are made to hide the bodies of people is a blessing under a lot of circumstances, and when you are at a sporting event and the guy sitting at the end of the row bare chested is just an unsightly scene. It’s generally some chubby person who thinks it’s cool and funny that they are overweight and hanging out at the game with their shirt off. These aren’t the people who wear body paint and put letter on their body at least they have some sort of purpose for doing it. This type of fan is the guy who gets all sweaty from the heat and leaves a nice patch of sweat on the seat back, so that the next person who sits there will surely get some of their DNA.

If you get hot from just wearing a T-shirt maybe you don’t need to attend sporting events outside, no one wants to see what you look like with your shirt off.

Injuries have always been a part of sports, and the NFL preseason almost comes down to who can make it through without getting hurt. We have already watched injuries to players like Larry Fitzgerald, Torry Holt, Fred Jackson, and Marshawn Lynch. Injuries create opportunities and solidify positions for some, at the end of the day if you get through the preseason without getting hurt you stand a good chance of making the team.

With the news that rookie tailback Ben Tate is scheduled to go on IR due to an ankle injury, Arian Foster, who was already looking at the starting running back job for Texas this season, is now a near-lock to start the season for the team.

With Steve Slaton’s fumbling issues still alive and well in the early going of the 2010 NFL preseason, it looks like Foster will pick up right where he left off in his stretch run of the 2009 season.

Foster displayed a solid physically running style, as well as an ability to pick up pass protection and catch passes out of the backfield. His versatility and strong fundamentals have him above Slaton from a talent standpoint, and the fact that he’s held onto the ball in his short time as a starter gives him an extra edge.

Foster put up three touchdowns and over 200 rushing yards in Houston’s final two games to end the season in 2009, while averaging roughly 5.5 yards per carry.

So, what’s the end result of all this jabber and hype? Foster is the starting tailback on a pass-first team that is looking to get more balanced, and has addressed its sketchy offensive line woes in the offseason.

Foster will be the lead back, top short-yardage back, and top goal-line back. And while the explosive Slaton is primed to get most of the third down and passing down action, Foster’s solid receiving abilities and ability to pick up the blitz could eventually make him a featured back, and could even make Slaton fairly expandable.

While Foster may never translate all of this into elite fantasy production, we can easily see him putting up quality RB2 numbers, out-performing Slaton, and being worth every cheap penny you pay for him as a mid-round selection in your fantasy draft.

All those owners who bet the farm on Ben Tate made a common mistake in fantasy football; if you read our previous article on Fantasy Football draft strategies then you know Rookies are hit or miss. Ben Tate was injury prone with ankle problems at Auburn, and in his first preseason action he messes up his ankle seemingly for the entire season.

It’s almost that time of year again, football season is right around the corner and everyone is gearing up for it. Players have reported to training camp, and preseason games have already started. Along with football season comes Fantasy Football season, which means Fantasy Football Drafts will be taking place regularly from now until the start of the season. If you have never played fantasy football before then you are missing out on one of the best experiences that enhance watching professional sports.

For those who already put in the blood guts and sweat to draft the best possible fantasy football team, here are several tips to help your chances of success on draft day.

Avoid fallomg in love with rookies – Rookies are an exciting part of professional sports, that’s why the NFL draft is one of the most watched shows on television. Especially if you follow college football and have watched some of these players in college, then you can really get attached to them. Avoid this strategy at all costs, even if a rookie is named the starter at his position there will be some point in the season where they are going to struggle. College athletes play 12 games 13 if they go to a bowl game, now they are in an environment where they play 16 games and the games are much longer. They are going to run out of gas at some point unless they playing time is rationed by their team; either scenario is not good for your fantasy football team. So, why spend a high draft pick on a player who is unproven, and won’t be a difference maker for you most of the time? Go after the rookies after the second or third round where the value is better.

Don’t make picks solely based off of what a player did last season – The NFL is a copy cat and adjustment league, when a player on a team has a big year do you not think opposing teams spend all off season planning to stop them? Randy Moss broke the record for touchdowns receptions in 2007 with 23, but he only caught 11 touchdowns in 2008. LaDanian Tomlinson broke records in 2006 with 28 touchdowns, but in 2007 he only had 15 touchdowns. Both of these are extreme examples, but it just shows teams adjust to what other teams are doing. Players get inflated and people draft them high then are disappointed they did not match the previous seasons output, try to catch a player on his upswing year instead of his downswing.

Have a backup plan and a backup plan to your backup plan – Fantasy Football drafts rarely go as planned, and you can come into the draft with the best laid plan in the world, but conditions always change and if you do not have a backup strategy it can ruin your entire draft. Most drafts pick the draft order before hand, so you should have an idea of who you should be able to get and target your players accordingly.

Conduct a Mock Draft – Some people may feel this is a bit of overkill, but the theory is simple if you are going to do something why not be the best at it. If you conduct a mock draft and use some logic with the picks then you should be able to see what your team will look like. It will also give you a good idea of who will be available when it comes around time for you to make your selections, and a mock draft does not have to be you and all of your friends you can simulate the other players just use some logic when you do.

Remove any emotional connections to a team or player – Big Florida Gator fan and just love Tim Tebow? Pretend that he is just any other player when at your fantasy draft (at least in the early rounds) because it may cause you to take a player higher than needed because of this emotional connection. Emotion makes people do crazy things both in life and in fantasy football, you must train yourself to avoid this pitfall. It can really screw you in an auction league because you are bidding on each player, and if other owners know you like a certain team you may end up paying a premium for a player when it is not necessary. If you have to get a player from a team you like, grab their kicker, defense, or a second string player in the later rounds.

Don’t Put too much stock in training camp updates - People get excited over every little update out of training camp for each team, and everyone acts like they have some inside source that is feeding them information. Most teams already know who is going to be slotted where on their teams, and are generally only filling in a few holes here and there during training camp. Why would a team release all of this public information about what they are doing? Do they want to give their opponents an advantage? Of course not, so all of this chatter on web forums and message boards about some 6′ 6″ sleeper wide receiver who is really impressing coaches at camp. It’s all a big smoke screen, pay attention to the injuries and keep an eye on rookies and that is about it.

Tune out chatter from other owners - Other owners drafting against you will want to throw you off your game, and they use a variety of tools to do this. You pick Ladanian Tomlinson and joy fully put his sticker on the draft board, you hear clapping in the background and a sarcastic “great f*cking pick” from another owner. Then another owner chimes in with “steal of the draft”, these sarcastic attempts may have you doubting your strategy in later rounds. Don’t let it happen and be confident in your selections, even if you feel like you may be reaching on a player.

Know the rules of the league - The biggest mistake made by owners at fantasy football drafts is not knowing the rules of the league. That makes the biggest difference because an auction draft versus a serpentine draft call for different strategies. If you are in a league that requires two starting quarterbacks instead of one then you have to draft very differently. If the league offers points for receptions, or takes points away for interceptions then you have to employ your plan based on that information. If you show up on draft day and you have no idea how the draft will be conducted, how the league is scored, and what type and how many starters you are required to carry then you are doomed from the start. This is the single biggest factor that can make or break your draft, so make sure to request this information from the league commissioner well before draft day.

Many have eagerly waited for the new season of Pros vs. Joes to debut, the first episode this season was a special one. Rather than having three unknown Joes they had NFL players as Joes playing against NBA Pros, whoever thought of the idea is a genius. The teams were Donovan McNabb, Antonio Gates, and Terrell Owens for the Joe team, and Rick Fox, Kenny Smith, and Hakeem Olajuwon for the Pros team.

The first contest that was up was called “Cut Throat” where they went 1 on 1 against each other, if the player scored on the defender then the defender had to rotate. If the defender stopped him from scoring then the offensive player would have to rotate with one of the others. First team to five points wins the game.

T.O. starts out against Olajuwon, and T.O. takes a jab step to back Olajuwon up and then drains shot over Olajuwon who was anticipating a drive to the basket from Owens. Rick Fox is then rotated onto defense, and T.O. wastes no time and takes Rick fox to hole scoring a layup over him. Kenny Smith then comes on to guard T.O., and T.O. tries to pump fake Kenny. Kenny does not fall for it and successfully defended Owens who missed the 15 foot jumper.

Kenny Smith then goes on offense, and he fakes a drive to the basked against Donovan McNabb. But McNabb does not commit to the basket fully and managed to get a hand in Kenny’s face as he misses the jump shot. Gates fouls Olajuwon to prevent him from scoring, and gets rotated off. T.O. comes on to guard Olajuwon, and he fouls him, but Olajuwon still manages to make the shot.

McNabb rotates on to guard Olajuwon, he backs McNabb down into the post and scores over him easily. It was now Antonio Gates turn to guard “The Dream”. Olajuwon drives to the basket and scores over Gates in the paint. T.O. comes on and manages to prevent Olajuwon from scoring by stripping the ball away from him.

T.O. then drains a shot over Rick Fox who was totally lost when he came on to defend. T.O. used his size to back Kenny Smith down in the post, but he was fouled by Kenny Smith which was a smart play to prevent T.O. from an easy bucket. Olajuwon comes on, and gets closer to T.O. this time. T.O. takes a jab step, but decides to do a step back three pointer. He shoots an air ball because Olajuwon gave him less room this time. McNabb comes on and has to stop Olajuwon or the Joes lose the first challenge. Hakeem goes to his patented move and Dream Shakes McNabb, nothing but net the NBA Pros win the first challenge.

The next challenge is a game called Buzzer Beater where the offensive team tries to inbound the ball and get a shot off in five seconds. Each team gets three tries and the highest score wins.

McNabb Steals Rick Fox’s pass on the give and go, it was a horrible pass by Fox. They start again and pass the ball around, eventually working a Pass to Olajuwon in the paint who scored easily. McNabb Steals Pass from Olajuwon on the inbound when he tries to tap it out to Kenny Smith. The teams switch sides, and McNabb Misses 3 pointer. They inbound the ball to Gates who misses 2 point jumper from the elbow. They inbound to McNabb who pass back to, who then T.O. misses layup but taps the rebound out to Gates who drains 3 pointer Joes win.

The next game was Fast Break where two defenders try to stop all three offensive players running a fast break, each team gets three chances to score with the most points winning.

T.O. and Gates decide to stop Olajuwon and make Kenny Smith beat them with jumpers, “the jet” drains a jumper when they left him wide open. T.O. says he will miss eventually and they employ the same strategy, Kenny Smith Drains another jumper against T.O. and Gates. They say that he can’t make three in a row and go with the same game plan, and Kenny Smith Drains yet another jumper against them.

They NFL Joes get their chance and they run a Give and Go with McNabb and Gates, McNabb lays it in over Kenny Smith for an easy score. The NBA players sub in Olajuwon for Kenny Smith, and that caused T.O. to avoid going all the way in the paint and he missed a runner in the lane. Gates gets the rebound, but Olajuwon affects the shot and snatches the rebound. The NBA Pros take this challenge.

That now brings us to the Final Game where they have a five minute three on three basketball game, and of course the highest score wins. The NFL Joes start out with three points because they won one challenge. Joes start out up 3 – 0 and taking a bunch of jumpers, McNabb drives to the basket and lays it in 5 – 0 Joes. T.O. blocks Olajuwon and kicks it out to McNabb who drains a 3 pointer to make the score 8 – 0. Rick fox hits a two from the baseline to put the Pros on the board 8 – 2, McNabb makes one of the free throws after being fouled by Rick Fox. Terrell Owens steals the pass from Kenny Smith hits a three pointer and the Joes go up 12 – 2 on the pros.

Gates fouls Olajuwon which seems to be the game plan for the Joes, they take the ball out. They throw it in to Olajuwon again and he hits both free throws to make the score 12 – 4 joes. Pass it in to McNabb who backs Kenny Smith down and passes to Gates for a backdoor layup on Olajuwon. T.O. pump fakes the dream goes around him to the hole and gets fouled by Rick Fox, T.O. misses both free throws and Olajuwon gets the rebound, it is kicked out to Kenny Smith who drains a three pointer to make it 14 – 7 joes. Gates gets a pass on the wing and he takes Olajuwon to the hole and scores on him baseline to mek the score 16 – 7. Olajuwon hits a shot over Gates gets fouled and misses the free throw. T.O. misses a drive to the basket Kenny Smith grabs the rebound kicks it out to Rick fox who drains a three pointer.

Gates gets the ball and is fouled hard then misses both of the free throws, Olajuwon gets a deflection and scores to make the score 16 – 14 Joes. Olajuwon backs Gates down in the post and gets fouled, but hits a shot and then he misses the free throw. The score is now tied, T.O. does a step back three pointer and drains it. Olajuwon is then fouled by Antonio Gates and drains both free throws to make the score 18 – 18 with 21.8 seconds left in the game. The Joes try to run the clock out, and McNabb takes a turnaround layup I the lane and misses, and the ball is rebounded by Olajuwon as Rick Fox calls timeout with 1.5 seconds left. Olajuwon misses the shot from the inbound pass by Rick Fox, and the game goes into overtime. T.O. takes a shot gets his own miss and lays it in over Rick Fox. Rick Fox in bounds to Olajuwon and he is immediately fouled, he misses the 1 and 1, T.O. rebounds kicks out to McNabb who drains a 3 pointer to make the score 23 – 18 Joes.

They foul Olajuwon again who misses the 1 and 1 which is rebounded by Gates, the joes miss a shot and the ball gets kicked out to Kenny Smith who drains another three pointer. Gates gets the pass from McNabb drives to the basket and is fouled by Rick Fox, gates makes 1 of 2 free throws. On the miss Kenny Smith misses a three pointer and T.O. grabs the rebound and knocks down a 2 poitner to make the sore 26 – 21 joes. Olajuwon gets a quick pass and shot in the basked to make it 23 – 26. They joes inbound the ball to McNabb who backs down Rick Fox and is fouled, he sinks both free throws to make the score 28 – 23 joes with 13.1 seconds left in overtime. T.O. breaks up the pass to Olajuwon and kicks it out to McNabb who runs out the clock to seal the victory for the joes.

What a great way to start the season, the NFL Joes surprisingly beat the NBA Pros. I think Kenny Smith and Hakeem Olajuwon were great choices, but Rick Fox was the weak link. He hardly scored and he played fairly garbage defense, which led to a lot of shots and opportunities for the team of McNabb, Gates, and Owens who all contributed to the win. T.O. was the star though, hitting shots, blocking Olajuwon, and making a ton of hustle plays he can probably play in the NBA right now. We will see what Michael Vick does on the show next week, but it’s good that this show is back on the air finally.

About two seasons ago the Washington Redskins signed former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to a $100 million dollar contract. Haynesworth had an average season to say the least, and his head coach was fired at the end of the season. The new coach in town Mike Shanahan runs a defense not suited to his abilities, and it seems that it is only a matter of time before Haynesworth is no longer a Redskin.

Now if you sign that big of a contract, and then immediately under achieve the next season that is a big problem. Not to mention all the rumors floating around about him being a cancer in the locker room, and not getting along with the new coach.

Haynesworth is now being sued for $10 million by a Brooklyn stripper for impregnating her and then, according to court documents, failing “to provide and emotional or financial support of her or his unborn child.”

Haynesworth is in the cross-hairs of New York-based exotic dancer Silvia Mena. The former Pro Bowler and alleged father of Mena’s unborn baby, is being accused of skipping out on the child she is carrying.

According to 25-year old Silvia Mena, she was romanced by Haynesworth in February during this year’s Super Bowl events held in Miami. Soon after, she discovered she was pregnant and went to Haynesworth seeking help.

Mena’s lawsuit claims that she is four months pregnant with Haynesworth’s baby and that the Redskins DT has bailed on his responsibilities.

Haynesworth initially agreed to support her through the pregnancy; he has refused to talk to Mena and has not sent her any money. Haynesworth has yet to comment on the situation, but it is all too clear that he will approach it with the same unfeeling attitude that we have seen throughout his time in Washington.

This is not a new story, it happens all the time to pro athletes. We are not taking any sides here, but Albert Haynesworth is another athlete in a long line who tempt fate with their lifestyle chocies. If he truly knocked her up then he needs to handle the situation, if not then he is just dumb for putting himself in this situation.

Why do athletes insist on messing with women who are going nowhere, or who are already seasoned gold diggers? Most of these women are just looking for a meal ticket, and these athletes think that they have the upper hand because they “got some”. There are a lot of women who will willing give that up for a chance at a few million dollars in a settlement, but these guys continue to fall into the trap of messing with them.

Bode Miller is one of the best Alpine Skiers in the world, he has rebounded from his poor performance in Torino to win three medals at the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver. It seems Bode is unattached at the moment, which may be a reason for his success.

Discovering the women in Miller’s life was not as easy as with mainstream athletes, Miller works his trade all over the globe. Once I found pictures of all of them, I will have to say that Mr. Miller has represented himself well when it comes to his taste in women.

He has a some variety too, but as he has gotten older it seems he has developed a type he seems to stick with now. So enjoy the women who have come and gone in Bode’s life.

Susie Abromeit (2002 – 2003)

Born, November 15th, 1982 in Boston Massachusetts, she was on the Dean’s list and Honor Roll at Duke University.

She’s a singer/songwriter. She plays guitar and produces her own music. Played tennis for Duke University on a full scholarship where her team went on to win indoor NCAA’s. She has been skiing since she was 2 years old and when she was 11 was on the federation ski team in New England.

Apparently Bode and her dated in 2002 and 2003, it is unclear if it was a continuous relationship or off and on. She has a fairly stable acting career going making appearances in Burn Notice, As the World Turns, and One Tree Hill. She has four movie credits for 2010 which are slated to be released, so Mr. Miller does not seem to pick losers.

Lizzie Hoeschler (2002 – 2004)

Ok it was a bit hard to find information on this young lady, the main thing I was able to find out about her is that she is a professional log roller. What? Yes a professional log roller, you know there is a log floating in water and two people run on it until one of them falls off.

I would not have thought a chick who does log rolling would be so cute, but Bode leaves no stone unturned. This just shows the variety Bode has when picking his WAG’s, they dated off an on from 2002 – 2004.

It seems Bode was going back and forth between her and Susie Abromeit, I guess her log rolling schedule might have gotten in the way.

Claudia Toth (2004)

Claudia Toth (born May 24, 1981) is the Austrian national curling team skip. She once turned down an offer to pose for the German edition of Playboy.

She has played in two European Championships, skipping her Austrian team to an 11th place finish in 2004 and 9th place in 2005. In 2005, she posed nude in a calendar to promote the sport of curling.

Do I really need to say more about her? She has been featured in a few articles on Bleacher report already talking about the hottest women in the summer Olympics. You guys are all hopping on late, Bode was talking to this young woman in 2004.

I am not sure what happened between them, but she has not felt inclined to comment on the relationship much since. The word on the rumor is that Bode dumped her, many guys thought Bode was dumb especially after Toth appeared in the Naked Curlers Calendar sporting her birthday suit.

Karen Sherris (2005)

In 2005 Bode hooked up with Karen Sherris a model from Alberta, Canada; now many people say that Bode met her online and flew her to one of his ski events in Europe (a bit tigeresque?).

She has some fairly nice looking photos, so score another one for Bode. He goes from an Actress to a log roller, then to a curling champion, and on to something more mainstream a model.

Now this is the interesting part, this young lady must be some soft of ski groupie (those actually exist?), she is engaged to Erik Guay a Canadian Alpine Skier. She gave birth to their child on January 8th, 2009, Bode was smart enough to not get caught in that trap.

Morgan Kennedy (2006 – 2007)

The next WAG on the list is Morgan Kennedy, it’s simple she is a model, she looks good and her pictures don’t disappoint. She has a lot of modeling credits to her name unlike Bode’s previous WAG, so this was in fact an upgrade for him.

The most important thing about this young lady is Bode was involved with her from 2006 – 2007. Hmmmm, what is significant about that oh wait!!?? Were the Olympics in Torino going on during that time?

Now we know the real reason Bode was not focused and did not seem to really care too much about winning the downhill or Giant Slalom in Torino. With this young lady on your arm, how could your really focus on skiing?

Here is her website if you want to take a look http://www.morgankennedy.net/home.html there are lingerie photos, bikini photos, the works.

Marthe Gausen Nestvold (2008)

Somehow Bode and Ms. Kennedy parted ways and he ended up with Marthe Gausen Nestvold, who reminds me of Nicole Kidman for some reason. She is Norwegian which seems something you can never go wrong with, she has a television appearance in Norway as well.

Now Bode was talking to this young lady in 2008, when Miller would have been thirty. She was 19 years old at the time, and apparently Bode spent Christmas in Norway with her a few years ago.

Here is an excerpt on the matter from a Norwegian newspaper, this is translated so may not be 100% accurate. “It is unknown how the two met and how long the Norwegian girl has known Miller, who is among the world’s most famous alpine skiers – and in addition, the reputation for being something of a festive lion.”

Festive Lion I would think that is an understatement for Miller, and I have to say he did a relatively good job of keeping things somewhat private. This can be seen from her quote, “I can not deny that I know him, but I do not want to comment on anything.” That is how you keep your personal life private Bode!!

Amanda Jean French (2009 – ???)

Now we come to the present, with the information available it seems that Bode is involved with Amanda Jean French, yet another model who actually has a real career in the modeling industry as well. In her portfolio she has a lot of ski related modeling pictures which may explain how she met Bode.

I will say as of late Bode seems to have a “type” he went through a stint with the athletic women, then he has been dating models ever since. Now if you compare Amanda Jean French to Marthe Gausen Nestvold they look like they could be sisters.

French is 27 years old and hails from New Hampshire (Thanks Amanda), there are no mentions of Miller on her twitter or myspace accounts, but several photos of them together have surfaced on the internet.

But Miller is one of her friends on her skispace.com account LOL!! It appears their relationship may have recently ended, but we all know Bode will land on his feet.
