Let me preface this by saying that I do not want to see Duke win, but the magical run for The Bulter Bulldogs is going to end Monday night in Indianapolis. Butler is a good basketball team, some can even argue that they can be considered one of the better teams in college basketball this year. They were ranked in the preseason top 10, so obviously someone knew they were going to be good. They are well-coached and have many good athletes who bring different attributes to the team every game. They... [Read more]

It was like a giant thud, as the clock ticked away and West Virginia players started to celebrate their win. Kentucky’s season came to an end Last Saturday night and likely so did the college careers of fab freshman John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins. John Calipari made a habit of recruiting ‘one and done’ players at Memphis signing two top five draft picks in a row in Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans and continued this upon his arrival to Lexington. The signing of Wall, Cousins, and the rest... [Read more]

Duke is in the Final Four, and all their fans are rejoicing at the Blue Devils finally making it back to a place where they lived seemingly ever year from 1986 – 2004. They downed Baylor in a hard fought game 78 – 71 on Sunday. I think Duke Fans should be concerned though, this game was far from a dominating performance by the Blue Devils. They did not pull away until about two minutes left in the game, and Baylor actually had the lead at halftime. Watching this game Duke had one saving... [Read more]

If you went to sleep early and missed the ending of the Kansas State versus Xavier Sweet 16 NCAA tournament game, you probably missed the game of the year. I do not think we are going to see a game with this many twists and turns in any sport for the rest of the year, but the tournament still has a long way to go so who knows. Kansas State prevailed in double overtime 101 – 96, but that is really the least exciting part of the whole game. How they arrived at that final score is what was so... [Read more]

We have just come off of maybe the most exciting weekend of College Basketball ever. This weekend truly gave meaning to the term March Madness, there were so many upsets and down to the wire games that you never wanted to leave your seat. This was considered a “down” year in college basketball because UNC, UCONN, and Arizona were not strong this year. None of them made the tournament, and Arizona broke a 20 year streak of making the tournament. So this was somewhat expected... [Read more]

The tournament is in full swing Old Dominion has already upset Notre Dame, and Villanova is locked in a battle with Robert Morris. The Florida vs. BYU game is going into the second overtime in what looks to be an instant classic. This is what we love about March Madness upsets, close games, and unexpected finishes. But looking at this closely are those not two Big East teams struggling with what would be inferior competition from inferior conferences? We are talking about the proclaimed best... [Read more]
