The landscape of the Eastern Conference has slowly changed recently. The last few seasons all everyone wanted to talk about is how weak the Eastern conference was, how all of the dominant teams were in the West. Thanks to the Kevin Garnet/Ray Allen trades in 2007 the Celtics were able to upset that trend, although that happened it on temporarily tilted the balance. Their chance at winning multiple championships is severely limited because of their aging roster. They may have another run left in... [Read more]
Tracy McGrady Signs With The Pistons. Is There Any Gas Left In The Tank?

Tracy McGrady is 31 and has agreed to play for the Pistons this season for a relatively low salary. He’s being brought in at the paltry NBA veteran’s minimum of $1.35 million. There’s still magic in the McGrady name in NBA circles. His fan base is still strong. To many, McGrady is just one good rehab curriculum away from returning to greatness. The Pistons signed McGrady for his name recognition and his potential to pull people into the Palace on a snowy night in January when the Memphis... [Read more]

In GQ’s September issue, the magazine will run an in-depth interview with LeBron about his decision to leave Cleveland for the Miami Heat, how he decided to announce his decision, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert’s comments, and other things. It’s too bad, however, that LeBron has lost the attention of the nation, which is worse than how he lost the nation’s respect when he went forward with “The Decision”. At least people listened then. Oh, we hear what LeBron has to say,... [Read more]

Lebron James has worked hard to shape his image over his seven years in the NBA; he has a publicly stated several times that he wants to be the first billionaire athlete. People refer to him as “The King” because of his last name and the fact that some believe he is the best player in the NBA. Lebron has been very careful to keep his private life out of the limelight, which is relatively easy to do when you play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. There is now a new reality for James one that he... [Read more]
Chris Paul Wants Out of New Orleans. Will There Be a CP3 Sighting In Orlando?

In an unthinkable turn of events Chris Paul seems to be very close to leaving the New Orleans Hornets, Paul is their franchise player and really one of the only stars on that team. Paul is trying to get with other NBA stars and create a “super team” much like Lebron, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh did in Miami. This is yet another reason I am not a fan of “The Decision”, Paul has apparently let New Orleans ownership and front office brass know that now is the time to work... [Read more]

Even though the NBA season is over the league has still very much been in the news because of the Free Agency Period. The only difference this season is that several of the best players in the NBA are available as free agents, and several others opted out of the last year of their contracts. Many teams who have these players opting out and being free agents have to scramble and do whatever they can to keep their star players. The recently reported contract offer by the Atlanta Hawks to Joe... [Read more]

The Los Angeles Lakers somehow pulled victory from the jaws of defeat in game 7 of the NBA finals versus the Boston Celtics. All of the Boston fans are crying bloody murder by the officials, and are blaming the zebras for their loss as they seem to feel the game was rigged. I will admit it was an odd game that had a definite twist at the end of the game, but all in all the Celtics missed shots down the stretch that were makeable. The Lakers looked pathetic in the 3rd quarter. Even the Jack Nicholson... [Read more]

Game 7 of the NBA Finals is tonight, what that means is either way the NBA season will come to an end for the 2010 season. Contrary to popular belief I think the Celtics actually still have the advantage going into this game, most people feel the Lakers do based off of their game 6 performance. The Celtics have come back from a situation like this before, and the Lakers have yet to prove that they can win back to back games in this series. The Lakers are going to have to repeat their game 6... [Read more]

The Cleveland Cavaliers put their coaching hopes on Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo, which if you analyze it can be looked at as a good or dumb move. How successful would a college coach, even one as accomplished as Izzo do in the NBA? Well, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, who has led the Spartans to six Final Four appearances in 12 seasons including a national championship in 2000, has turned down an offer to become the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Detroit Free Press and ESPN...
